Guided Flight Discovery Instrument Commercial Pilot Manual JS314525
To help you organize your study, the Instrument/Commercial Manual
is divided into four parts:
Part
I -Discovering New Horizons The
information needed to begin your professional pilot journey
is introduced in this part. The first chapter, Building Professional
Experience, answers many of your questions about the training
process and introduces advanced human factor concepts. Principles
of Instrument Flight, Chapter 2, is the foundation for becoming
an instrument- rated pilot. Chapter 3 -The Flight Environment
introduces air traffic control for instrument flight and emphasizes
ATC clearances. Part
II -Instrument Charts and Procedures Chapters
4 through 7 of Part II provide a broad introduction to instrument
charts in the same sequence of use as an instrument flight -departure,
enroute, arrival, and approach. Procedural sections follow each
chart presentation topic so you are immediately exposed to operational
factors that require interpretation of IFR chart symbology and
other cartographic features. Chapter 8- Instrument Approaches
combine approach chart formats with an operationally oriented
narrative designed to show you how to precisely fly various
types of instrument procedures.
Part
III -Aviation Weather and IFR Flight Operations
In Part III, you will become familiar with aviation weather
from the perspective of conducting IFR flight operations. In
Chapter 9 -Meteorology you will learn how to minimize your exposure
to hazardous weather phenomena by using weather reports, forecasts,
and charts in the planning phase. Chapter 10- IFR Flight Consideration
provides a framework for coping with the complex options presented
by IFR flight operation, including emergencies.
Part
IV -Commercial Pilot Operations
Specialized
information for commercial pilots characterizes the content
of Part IV. Chapter 11 -Advanced Systems provides operational
insight for complex and high performance aircraft. Chapter 12
-Aerodynamics and Performance Limitations helps you define the
flight envelope and prepares you for predicting performance
and controlling weight and balance as you move up to higher
performance aircraft. Chapter 13 and 14 - Commercial Flight
Considerations and Commercial Maneuvers conclude this part with
in-depth analyses of emergency procedures, commercial decision
making, and performance of precision flight maneuvers.
